The International Commission on Tracers (ICT) is a scientific commission of IAHS that promotes the use of tracer approaches to investigate the hydrological cycle and material dynamics across hydrological sciences. Tracers are naturally occurring or anthropogenic substances that provide information across spatial scales from points to large basins and temporal scales from days or weeks to millions of years. The Commission focuses on using tracers to evaluate water sources, pathways, residence times, transport processes, and solute dynamics, including processes across watershed, topographic, geological, and climatic boundaries.
