ICWRS, WATER RESOURCES SYSTEMS

The International Commission on Water Resources Systems (ICRWS) promotes the advancement of hydrological sciences and water resources engineering through integrated and system-oriented approaches to water management. Our main focus is the understanding, design, prediction, and management of water resources systems across multiple spatial and temporal scales, considering the strong interactions between hydrological, environmental, technological, and socio-economic processes. In the context of the IAHS HELPING decade, ICWRS supports interdisciplinary research and engineering solutions addressing climate change, hydrological extremes, Food-Energy-Water Nexus interactions, virtual water transfer, ecosystem conservation, and sustainable water governance. Our activities include organizing the International Symposium on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), fostering collaboration among scientists, engineers, practitioners, and stakeholders to improve resilience, sustainability, and decision-making in complex water systems.
